Well then..
I'm being pimped out by some friends on the Gencon boards to some guy in the Single Gamers thread.

I'm amused by this in many ways. That being said, I guess this means that Adam, Mical, Dan and a few others won't be the only ones hitting on me this year at con. (All three men are taken, and [info]faecat is scary in many ways.)

Though we got talking about dead bodies in rivers and I mentioned that I would NEVER put a dead body in a river. Someone wants to know why I wouldn't....hee, this should be fun.
(Random information I should never know, but do coming to the forefront).

It makes for a smiley day.

I disagree with your stance on body dumps in rivers, but I'd like to hear your opinion on the matter.

Golly, I often sound like a serial killer on LJ. I swear I'm not.

I know you aren't.

Basically, while rivers can be good for decomp, the body will bloat, the head, feet, and hands can detach from the body (this can be seen as a good or bad thing); and time of death is usually quite hard to decipher.

Also, the head usually will end up (from what I know) as the last part being eaten in the river, while if you dump a body on land, the head is usually the first part that bugs get to, simply because of the holes in the ears, eye sockets, nose, lips/mouth.

Rivers are unreliable, and prone to putting a body where you lest want it. The fact that it is constantly running WOULD increase decay of soft tissue, but wont do anything about bone, and the last thing you need is someone fishing up a skull. Also, placing a corpse in a deep enough part of the river is tricky in and of itself, and rivers are usually near roads and people.

Personally, a hole in the ground, or several if you have the time, and something to accelerate decay or at the very least help take care of the bones (lime is easy to get, and if you but some other garden supplies ((NOT YOUR SHOVEL)) not very suspicious) is MY preferred method.

Or pigs, never trust a man with a pig farm.

Men with pig farms are scary. Pigs will eat ANYTHING.
And I mean anything.

Saguaro cacti are also good to bury bodies under.
